Terms of Use
Effective October 15, 2026
The short version: Room Trivia is free to play for fun, at home, in class or at a party. It comes as it is, with no promises. Please be kind, keep it family-friendly, and don't try to break, overload or copy the site. If you find a problem, tell us.
1. Agreeing to these terms
By using this website (the "Site"), you agree to these Terms of Use and to the privacy notice. If you don't agree, please don't use the Site. Children should use the Site with a parent, guardian or teacher, who accepts these terms on their behalf.
2. A free service, provided "as is"
The Site is offered free of charge. It is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy or non-infringement. We don't promise that the Site will always be available, error-free or secure, or that games, scores or settings will be kept. We may change, pause or end any part of the Site at any time without notice.
3. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, the Site's owner and anyone who helps run it are not liable for any damages of any kind arising from or related to your use of the Site, or your inability to use it. This includes direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential and punitive damages, and any loss of data, even if we were told such damages were possible. Because the Site is free, if any liability is found anyway, our total liability will not exceed US $50. Some places do not allow certain limits on liability; in those places, our liability is limited as far as the law permits.
4. Fair play and acceptable use
You may use the Site for personal, family, classroom, church, club and other community games. You agree not to:
- attack, overload or disrupt the Site or its server, for example with floods of requests, denial-of-service attempts or automated traffic;
- probe, scan or test the Site for weaknesses, or try to get around its security, rate limits, word filter or other protections;
- access any part of the Site, its data or the admin area without permission;
- use bots, scrapers or scripts to play, join rooms, post scores or copy content;
- enter names, answers or messages that are rude, hateful, threatening, sexual, or that share anyone's personal information;
- impersonate someone else, harass other players, or post fake high scores;
- copy, republish, sell or build a product from the Site's questions or other content; or
- use the Site for anything illegal.
We may remove names, scores or messages, block visitors, and end games at any time, for any reason, without notice. Unauthorized access to computer systems may also break laws such as the U.S. Computer Fraud and Abuse Act.
5. Found a security problem?
Thank you for helping. Please describe it through the feedback form and give us reasonable time to fix it before telling anyone else. Don't access other people's data, damage anything, or keep testing once you have found the problem.
6. Ownership and license
The Site, including its questions, clues, text, design, graphics and software, is owned by its operator and protected by copyright. All rights reserved. We give you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, revocable permission to use the Site in a web browser as intended. No other rights are granted. You may not copy, download in bulk, modify, republish or sell any part of it without written permission.
Some parts belong to others and are used under their licenses:

Wiki-guess clues are our own writing about topics that have English Wikipedia articles. The Site is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Wikipedia or the Wikimedia Foundation. Names of people, places, companies, products, characters and other trademarks mentioned in questions belong to their owners and are used only to identify them; no affiliation or endorsement is implied.
7. Questions are for fun
We work to make every question accurate and suitable for all ages, but mistakes happen and facts change. Questions and answers are for entertainment only and are not professional, educational, medical, legal or religious advice. Faith categories describe what each tradition teaches in its own terms; they are not an endorsement or criticism of any belief. If you spot a mistake, use the thumbs-down after the answer or the feedback form.
8. What you send us
Nicknames, typed answers, ratings and feedback you send may be shown to other players (names and answers) or read by the site owner (feedback). You give us permission to store, show and use them to run and improve the Site. If you send ideas or suggestions, we may use them freely without paying you or giving credit. Please don't send personal information you don't want to share.
9. Ads, sponsors and links
The Site may show advertising or sponsor links to help cover its costs. Some links may be affiliate links, which means we may earn a commission if you buy something, at no extra cost to you. Ads on this Site will not be targeted using personal information about players. We are not responsible for other websites we link to, or for their products, content or privacy practices.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows when they last changed. If you keep using the Site after a change, you accept the new terms.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Maryland, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. If any part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies. If we don't enforce a part right away, we haven't given up the right to enforce it later.
